i’m a library IT geek. i’m 30-something. i’m married with 1 child. i was born in london(ontario), and after numerous stops growing up i ended up in hamilton(on), now i live in dundas(on). i usually type without caps, yet i’m picky about spelling and grammar. i’ve been using the web for ~15 years yet i’m still a n00b. i use humour as often as i can, otherwise i don’t talk very much. i consider myself a quirky ‘renaissance man’, having interests in both arts & sciences (though not many accomplishments in either).
the title of this blog, Tech|Gnosis, is a combination of concepts i value, technology, and gnosis (spiritual insight, intuitive knowledge) separated by a ‘pipe‘ (unix) symbol, meaning the output of the former is directed to the input of the latter. i’ve chosen the subtitle ‘et in arcadia ego‘ …which i leave you to interpret for yourself. this blog also hosts articles pertaining to my progress through a Learning 2.0 project through McMaster University Libraries, and as such my views and comments are my own and not those of my employer.
ask me about stuff i like: Hermeticism, Shamanism, Gnosticism, Spiritual Alchemy, Mysticism, Magick, Occultism, Symbolism, “Forbidden Knowledge”, Fringe Science, Holographic Paradigm, Trance Theory, Psychology (Behavioural, Analytical, Humanistic, Transpersonal), Consciousness, Cognition, Altered states of Consciousness, Neurotheology, Ancient/Medieval/Renaissance/Military History, Mythology, Philosophy, Deism, Theology, Knights Templar, Rosicrucianism, Freemasonry, Thelema, O.T.O., A:.A:., Zen, Gurdjieff, DaVinci, Franz Bardon, Robert Fludd, Giordano Bruno, Robert Anton Wilson, SF, Steampunk, Allegory, MMORPG’s, Bass Guitar, Reading, reading, more reading.
i like watching Criminal Minds and, oddly enough, Dancing with the Stars. Another little secret: i’ve watched YnR since about age… well, a long time.
Looking good … Love the little picture .
